Hasbro Expects Some 'White Space' on Store Shelves About half of Hasbro's toys and games in the US come from China, and Hasbro wants to shrink that to less than 40% by 2026, executives said last month. Hasbro CFO Gina Goetter acknowledged current trade policy may offer the company some advantages.
“With our retailers—the discussions that we’re having—we’re anticipating some [shelving] opportunities, and stepping into some white space,” Goetter said, according to a transcript made available by AlphaSense.
Tariff expenses may add up to as much as $300 million in 2025, but Hasbro thinks it can limit the hit to $180 million or less by diversifying its supply chain, changing its product lineup and cutting company costs, leaders said. Still, price increases are likely, Hasbro said.
The Toy Association has said that import taxes could result in supply shortages. The trade group last month called for “an immediate reprieve from tariffs” to ensure that toys are “available for the holiday season."

Earlier this week, Hasbro Pulse issued a notice encouraging fans to lock in preorder pricing before May 8. While the message didn’t explicitly confirm a price increase, Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks previously warned that rising import costs would likely be passed along to consumers. Describing the situation as “pretty fluid,” Cocks added that Hasbro expects “movements on the tariff front,” with possible changes coming as early as this weekend following scheduled talks between U.S. and Chinese officials, potentially resulting in adjusted tariff rates.

Nein, die meinen das Hasbro andere verdrängt die hauptsächlich aus China beziehen. Diese Firmen werden nicht liefern ggf insolvent und Hasbro und Mattel kann Märkte übernehmen, heisst nicht zwingend Star Wars. Mittlerweile haben sich aber schon wieder die Tariffs nach unten bewegt.

Posted - 05/13/2025 : 09:36:02 AM Mal schauen was das alles mit "white space" bedeuten soll- Ich weiß, man meint es wird leere Regale geben, aber wenn das von Hasbro liest, könnte man meinen, Hasbro wird die leere Regale mit ihren Sachen füllen. Falls das so ist, könnte das bedeuten, "Alles was wir haben schnell nach Amerika schicken!!" In andere Wörter, falls Hasbro jetzt die Figuren für uns hier in Europa nachproduzieren, dann könnte die alle nach SAmerika geschickt und wir stehen mit leeren Händen (ohne den TVC Snowtrooper und das Streets of Mos Eisley Playset) da, oder?
